Icmeler Marmaris Turkey

At the foot of the pine-clad mountains, the sleepy village of Icmeler is a collection of whitewashed houses covered in purple bouganvillea and where the streets are separated by olive, orange and lemon trees. Named for its famous springs whose water was said to be good for the digestive system Icmeler resort is approximately 8 kilometers from Marmaris at the western and of the bay.

The modern resort is a collection of restaurants, bars, shops and hotels. Five star hotels now back its noted beach, while the older residential area nestles under the hills at the back of the town. Beautifully landscaped, the approach to the resort shows it at its best.
Quieter than Marmaris, Icmeler offers the laid back approach to holidays that has long been popular in Turkey.

Every morning there is a flow of people from Marmaris to Icmeler, drawn by the fine beaches and cafes and bars by the beach attract a similar flow every evening. By day soak up the sun, or try out the range of water sports on offer, then the evenings can be spent in any one of the numerous pleasant bars and restaurants. There are delightful streets, the water channel and the seaside promenade to stroll around, boat trips to nearby sandy coves, or you can pick up a dolmus any time for a short ride into Marmaris, if you are after the more serious shopping or nightlife.
